Ask Anything

We are a pretty diverse group of individuals here at the Craig Companies. While we do not have all the answers, I think between all of us under this roof, we have most answers as they pertain to the various services we offer, and scopes we perform. If we do not have the answer, rest assured we will not be using AI…we will simply make something up that might sound reasonable!

We now have an email address for readers to use to ask a question, ask@craigplumbing.net It could be anything related to plumbing, fire protection, excavating, general construction…whatever, just ask and your question will get routed to the best person to provide the answer. We will select one question each week to feature here in Pipe Dreams, and here is a question we received just this morning!

My husband had secretly joined a traveling nudist Pickle Ball team with a college exchange student from Sweden. My question pertains to both plumbing, and excavation. I have a spot where I want to dig a hole in my yard about 6 feet deep, and unfortunately, there is a sewer line in that exact spot. Should I use a backhoe, or a small excavator to dig with, and is it OK to relocate the sewer line using a few 45-degree elbows? Signed, Single Again.

Great question. First, always call 811 before you dig, and always use a fitting that is less restrictive, and the 45-degree elbow is a good choice. If you have the room, a backhoe is the clear choice, as you can use the same machine to dig, backfill and move your backfill material from the trunk of your car to the hole you dug.

So, there you have it, our first not so legitimate question and answer…let’s keep them coming!
